This Bridge is truly a beautiful suspension bridge built recently. There is a pedestrian walkway/ bicycle path that is very popular. At the Vallejo end there is a small vista point/park. On the Crockett side there is a parking lot under the bridge and a path to the walkway. If you use the FastTrack you will be able to “pay-by-license plate" for one-time use on the FastTrack website. Just put your call license plate in the FastTrack system and go it works much easier than paying toll in cash it is faster!
The Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge is an awesome experience driving over it. The westbound suspension bridge is amazing definitely recommend seeing it or driving over it. On the flip side, the eastbound cantilever bridge is not bad at all. Great view of the bay really nice spot clean, has a drinking fountain which is kind of different but also great for people walking the bridge.
Nice to drive over, and sort of strange juxtaposition between the 2 bridges. Very nice! Great view of the bay really nice spot clean, has a drinking fountain. Also nice walk across the bridge. Traffic sounds can be a bit loud, but better than swimming across Carquinez Straits. Still has amazing views. Fastrak required or 5 dollars cash only. No cards accepted & unlike Golden Gate, you won't be able to “pay-by-license plate" for one-time use on the Fastrak website. The attendant will hand you a toll violation flyer ($25 fine). The violation will be sent to the registered vehicle owners address & you can either pay the fine, or open a Fastrak account where the violation fee will then be waived for the first violation only. It's the quickest way to “Wine Country" (Napa & Sonoma) from the East Bay.
If you're not familiar traversing the Bay Area, it's understandable how it can be problematic. Just make sure to carry cash, although while living here it's become important to become accustomed to ensure always having toll money on hand, just in case. So, rule of thumb if you're traveling to the Bay; always have toll money because it's called the Bay Area for a reason.
