The Benicia Historical Museum is a very nice museum about the history of Benicia and the surrounding area. Lots of exhibits about the gold rush and the military involvements Benicia played a role in. Very cool to see how this little town played such a great part in California's history.
Those who have not visited cannot truly understand that Benicia has been the center of the known world since before the gold rush. Absolutely fascinating, everything there. Learned so much by visiting this place. Great place to take a friend or even come by yourself. It is small but still is compact with artifacts, friendly staff, and rich history. Definitely suggest asking staff any questions you might have, they are very friendly and super knowledgeable both about Benicia and its contributions to the gold rush.
Always enjoy learning more about Benicia’s deep and rich history. This place helped. Really got an insight on Benicia and its big role in the gold rush. Really quite interesting.
The Benicia Historical Museum is full of documentaries, historical artifacts, information and books that can keep anyone engrossed for hours. Would probably recommend it to anyone that has a real fascination with history in general, or anyone that just likes to learn more about the place in which they reside.
The Place is nice and clean, although it should have more visible direction signs of how to get there. Love historic places, this one is very nice and well kept. Easy parking. The kids enjoyed it as much as us parents, good educational family day trip. History comes alive with their expert presentation. There are many facets to this hidden gem.
Really cool place to visit. Friendly staff. Will of course be coming back and recommending it to all friends and family. It is on a smaller scale, yet it so full of great displays especially on local history.
